Monomeric MDI

Monomeric MDI (Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate) is the pure form of MDI, primarily the 4,4'-isomer, existing as a solid (white crystals) that melts into a clear liquid, used extensively in making high-performance polyurethanes like elastomers, thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs), coatings, adhesives, and synthetic leather, valued for its excellent resistance to yellowing and its role as a building block for durable PU products.

Polyether polyols are one of the most important raw materials in the polyurethane (PU) industry. They react with isocyanates (MDI/TDI) to form flexible, semi-rigid, and rigid polyurethane foams, as well as elastomers, coatings, adhesives, and sealants. They are chosen for their stability, versatility, and excellent performance in a wide range of PU formulations. Polyether polyurethane can be divided into soft foam polyether, rigid foam polyether and elastomer with polyether according to performance of polyether products. However, polyether-based polyurethanes are more susceptible to UV radiation and provide poor resistance to oils and fuels compared to polyester-based polyurethanes.
